This gorgeous green guy is Abu, a 20ish-year-old Eclectus parrot. Abu’s owner unfortunately got sick and passed away. Abu is a very friendly, talkative, funny little guy. Due to his owner’s illness, he started feather-picking, and we are working on redirecting that behavior with lots of toys, attention, and weekly showers. We are also improving his diet. Eclectus parrots need 80% of their diet to be fresh vegetables, only a small amount of fruit, and a limited amount of the right pellet for an Eclectus parrot. If you are interested in giving Abu a wonderful home, you will need to be committed to giving him the proper diet. We will be very selective about who adopts him because of his dietary needs.
